PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Above normal temperatures continue across Portland as we wrap up the weekend. On average in mid-April we see 61 degrees as a daytime high, but Sunday’s afternoon temperatures will remain in the upper-60s at PDX.

Throughout the metro area, Sunday will be very similar to what we saw on Saturday, but with more blue skies. So grab those sunglasses!

Where there is still a threat for thunderstorms is central and eastern Oregon. That includes Bend, Redmond and stretching out past Pendleton with lightning, hail, and gusty winds all possible Sunday afternoon and evening.

No thunderstorms are expected for the Willamette Valley.

Once we start our new week though, cooler temps arrive. But the trend for the week will be mainly dry conditions. There’s a slight chance for isolated showers come Monday up and down the valley.

However, we’re expecting only a drizzle or very light rain with mostly cloudy skies Monday and Tuesday.

By the middle part of next week, warmer conditions along with sunnier skies will return.
