Nina Patricia Mitchell OBITUARY

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nina Patricia Mitchell on March 16, 2024, in Redlands, Ca. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday on December 7th.She was born in Pasadena and spent part of her early childhood in South Pasadena, then her later adolescent years in San Marino. She was a loving home maker and mother of three children, Michelle, Eric and Scott who preceded her in death May 1, 2009, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Prior to settling in Redlands Nina lived many years in Riverside and was an avid tennis player, snow skier, and dedicated Junior League volunteer. She also had many lady friends who regularly gathered to play bridge at the Victoria Club.Nina is survived by her husband David W. Mitchell who recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary and had known each other for over 70 years. They lived an absolutely beautiful life together traveling the world, as well as treating their entire family to several Hawaiian vacations. Nina and David’s favorite years were spent in Julian where they built a ranch-style home and raised cattle and assorted livestock. The entire family would agree, there were some very special memories made in Julian. Shooting skeet from their elevated backyard, grandkids fishing in their pond, sleep overs in the barn and many heated Bocce Ball tournaments. Her positive attitude and outlook throughout her life will always be remembered, as she would often say during trying times, “this too shall pass!” Special thanks to Plymouth Village for their compassionate, consistent care for both of our parents.Love You Forever
