Marjorie E. Hartsook

Marjorie E. Hartsook, age 91, of Palmyra, Il. died Wednesday (April 10, 2024) at Lakeside Health and Rehab in Carlinville, Il.

She was born May 17, 1932 in Higbee, Mo. daughter of the late Melvin and Fratie Sumpter Ketchum.

She married Richard Cole Hartsook on April 22, 1960 in Alton, Il. and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.

Surviving is a nephew, Dr. James Ketchum (Dr. Kathy Ketchum) of O’Fallon, Mo., and nieces

Janie Lair (Al) of Friendswood, Tx. and Candi Hettick (Bob) of Palmyra, Il.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Stanley Ketchum, and Edward Ketchum in infancy.

Marjorie was a 1950 graduate of Carlinville High School and was a past employee of Macoupin County Locker Service, Carlinville National Bank, and Wedge Bank in Alton, as a bookkeeper for many years.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday (April 13, 2024) at Stults-Neece Chapel in Palmyra, Il. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Benld Adopt-A-Pet and sent to Stults-Neece Chapel, 349 E.
