Playing in Wichita Falls this weekend: FallsCon Gaming Convention
Let the games begin this weekend at the FallsCon Gaming Convention.
All kinds of games will be on offer Friday through Sunday during events at the MPEC, 1000 Fifth Street. Organizers expect 600 people to attend.
"FallsCon 24 will feature a fantastic lineup of games and events for people of all ages, including a massive board game library, tabletop roleplaying games, tournaments, a costume contest, and more!" organizers said in a media release.
Esports and arcades will be offered with support from Maniac’s Mansion, Texoma eSports and MSU Texas Esports. In addition, the Nexus Game Lounge is sponsoring trading card game tournaments with $1000 in cash prizes.
"Our vendor and artist area has doubled in size as well, making the shopping portion of our event even more engaging for attendees," organizers said.
Gaming kicks off at 2 p.m. Friday. Pre-registration is available online. Badges for all three days are offered for $35, as well as individual day passes. Children 12 and under get in free with the purchase of a badge or day pass.
Military and student discounts are available with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased online at www.fallscon.net. Attendees who buy a badge can also preregister for events throughout the convention at www.fallscon.net/events.
FallsCon is returning for the seventh year to Wichita Falls, organizers said. In 2022, the gaming convention became a nonprofit organization with a mission is to create safe and inclusive communities, share the benefits of gaming and support academic goals through financial aid, organizers said.

FallsCon is supporting academic goals through an annual scholarships for MSU Texas students, organizers said. During the March 2023 FallsCon at the MPEC, nearly 400 people attended.
