$150,000 Powerball ticket sold in Kingsport

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Powerball jackpot continues to grow, but the Tennessee Lottery said one lucky person bought a ticket in Kingsport worth $150,000.

According to the Tennessee Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at the JB Market at 4065 Fort Henry Drive.

The player matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball. That equates to a $50,000 base prize, but the player added the Powerplay option for an extra dollar. The multiplier drawn was three, tripling the prize to $150,000.

The Powerball jackpot has grown to $1.23 billion. The next drawing will be Saturday night.

On Tuesday, the lottery announced a $100,000 ticket was sold in Elizabethton.
