HOWELLThe Community Theatre of Howell will present "The WCTH Radio Hour" later this month.

Live stage re-creations of two radio shows will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at the Howell High School Freshman Campus, 1400 W. Grand River Ave.

The performances of "Big Town — Pittsburgh 'Lil" and "Our Miss Brooks — Board of Education Day" are free and open to the public.

"Big Town — Pittsburgh 'Lil" first aired in 1937.

"In the bustling city of Big Town, the Illustrated Press newspaper reigns supreme," a release states. "The newspaper is driven by Steve Wilson, a merciless managing editor, and his fearless society reporter, Lorelei. When Lorelei refuses to write a malicious expose about a socialite’s scandalous past, the editor takes the article into his own hands with murderous consequences."

"Our Miss Brooks — Board of Education Day" first aired in 1948.

"It’s board of education day at Madison High and Principal Conklin has tasked Miss Brooks with arranging an exciting ceremony for the superintendent," according to the release. "A series of amusing mix-ups involving a prankster, an athletic dimwit and a stuffy principal culminates with explosive ceremonial results."

The live performances are directed by Peter Brown and produced by Melanie Lemont.
