Lenovo has approximately 500 employees in Whitsett, NC—far fewer than elsewhere (the company owns 35 manufacturing sites in eight countries). Most of the staff in Whitsett are working at "services and fulfillment," not assembly. While the company previously assembled some ThinkCentre desktop machines and ThinkPad laptops in Whitsett, the site now handles only "server manufacturing and rack integration."
