It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine Fern (Westman) Marlin on April 8, 2024 in Mt. Juliet, TN. Josephine (or “Jo” or “Mimi” or the “Cookie Lady”) was born on October 4, 1942 in Tracy City, TN. She enjoyed baking, reading, gardening and the fellowship of her church family. She always had a warm smile, encouraging words and cookies to lift your spirit.
She is preceded in death by father Andrew August Westman, mother Margaret Smartt Bouldin, brothers Andy Westman, Jr., Ernie Bouldin, sisters Sheila Campbell, Pam Bouldin, Dot Kalmar, and daughter Kristi Marlin Russell. She is survived by sisters Myrtle Irvin of Coalmont, TN, Rena (Earl) Terry of Tracy City, TN, Minnie (James) Schiesser of Red Bank, TN, Earlene (Johnny) Seagroves of Tracy City, TN, daughter Misti (Dave) Henderson-Elkins of Mt. Juliet, TN, sons Billy Ray Marlin, Jr. of Nashville, TN, and JT (Jennifer) Marlin of Mt. Juliet, TN, grandchildren Zachary (Taylor) Henderson, Nick (Hannah) Russell, Hayden Russell, Travis Russell, Krista Marlin, Ava Marlin, Casey (Medbh) Elkins, Emily (Jordan) Elkins Kenoyer, Molly Elkins, great-grandchildren Tate Russell, Brooks Russell and Beau Henderson, and life-long best friend Louise Moore.
Visitation will be held on April 17, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, located at 535 Shute Ln., Nashville, TN 37138.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to “Feeding America”.
