At Harbor Lights Counseling, we focus on helping clients identify their unique strengths and to develop healthy problem solving skills.

In therapy, challenges and difficult moments can be part of the therapeutic process and it is important to be supported through these moments with compassion and respect.

It is my belief that taking that first step towards change can be the most challenging, yet the most important. We all deserve a safe place in which to heal and grow as we navigate through some of life's challenges and difficult times. I moved to the Cape 20 yrs. ago after developing a private pratice in Dallas, TX. I've worked as a Director of and clinician for mental health services agencies and as a hospice social worker on the Cape before starting my own practice 6 years ago. My practice focus is adult individuals experiencing mental health concerns and reactions to life changes. Problems commonly discussed are: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, issues of adulthood and late life. I work with clients to help them identify individual needs and then support them as they gain insight into their concerns and develop strategies for change.

I specialize in adolescents who have survived trauma and help them heal. I have 12 years experience working with young people who struggle with social skills, exhibit behavioral difficulties, or have school related problems. I also work with parents who need assistance managing their child's difficult behaviors and to cope with the stressors related to these behaviors. It is my goal to work collaboratively with adolescents and their families to achieve social, emotional, and relational satisfaction. I develop quick rapport with my clients and use this relationship to help them find practical and realistic solutions to their problems.

I am a highly skilled and accomplished Therapist with a Master's degree in Addiction Counseling, a Master of Business Adminstration in Management and Certified Sex Addiction Therapy (CSAT). I have been an Inpatient Addiction Counselor with Gosnold Treatment Center in Falmouth, Massachusetts and a Mental Health Counselor with Boston Medical Center. I have conducted intakes and assessments, developed treatment plans and provided individual, group family, and adjunctive therapies. In addition, I have worked in an Emergency Room setting, providing interventions to physicians referred patients with substance abuse issues.

Currently only accepting adult clients for individual sessions during the day. Having a neutral, safe place to work through your struggles oftentimes makes all the difference. My passion is working with individuals, couples and families with relationship issues such as divorce, premarital counseling, parent/child relationships, grief work and more.
