Bruce W. Sargent OBITUARY

NORTH BILLERICABruce W. Sargent, 86, a resident of North Billerica, formerly of South Paris, Maine, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Gabrielle P. (Gonzales) Sargent with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.He was born in Wolfeboro, NH on August 30, 1937, and was the son of the late Willard and Eunice (Brock) Sargent.Bruce was a graduate of Lexington High School and went on to further his education at Fitchburg State College. Bruce spent eight years in the Air Force serving as a radar technician until 1965. This is where he met his loving wife Gabrielle, in Chaumont, France. He became an electronics teacher at Nashoba Valley Technical High School and Middlesex Community College where he shared his love of teaching and kept in contact with many students from his tenure there. Bruce enjoyed taking the family on trips to France to show them where he met the love of his life. He also enjoyed taking the family on camping trips to New Hampshire and Maine every summer.After retirement Bruce and Gaby built their retirement home in South Paris Maine, where they lived for 31 years and created many loving memories together. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren exploring the trails of Maine, hunting, fishing, and taking many photographs of the beautiful outdoors. Bruce was a communicant of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Chelmsford and South Paris Congregational Church in Maine. He was also an active member of The William Sewall Gardner Lodge in Lowell.In addition to his loving wife, Bruce leaves his children, Bruce Sargent of New Gloucester, Maine, Michael Sargent of Denver, Colorado, Dennis Sargent, and his wife Colleen of Lowell, William Sargent and Judy Riley of Pepperell, and Lee Sargent and Kathy Osborne of Ashby. Bruce also leaves his seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and his brother Stuart Sargent of Concord NH.Sadly, he was predeceased by his sister Joyce Sargent.Visiting hours will be held TODAY, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 4:00 ‘ 7:00 pm in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at 10 am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Rd., CHELMSFORD. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately.
