A Rancho Cucamonga family was held at gunpoint by two home-invasion robbers who remain on the loose Tuesday morning. Deputies responded to a robbery on the 5800 block of Rolling Pasture Place at around 12:30 a.m.

Two armed male suspects entered the home and took items while holding the family at gunpoint, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Residents are stunned and concerned as the typically quiet Inland Empire neighborhood is now the scene of an investigation.

“All I’ve heard is that they were hurt, held at gunpoint, that they were tied up and that the brother or that the son was hit in the head,” said Kristin Berzins, a neighbor.

A large law enforcement presence on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles Wednesday has ordered pro-Palestinian demonstrators to disperse, calling the encampment an unlawful assembly after violence erupted overnight. Hostilities outside the encampment had been simmering since demonstrators took over Royce Quad last Thursday, setting up dozens of tents and surrounding themselves with metal fences and wood pallets.

At around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, some 50 pro-Israeli counter-protesters, many of them dressed in black and wearing white masks, lobbed fireworks at those in the encampment and attempted to dismantle the barricades.

The Los Angeles May Day Coalition is holding a march and rally in Hollywood on Wednesday to celebrate International Workers' Day.

The holiday, celebrated on May 1 to honor the general strike that culminated in the Haymarket affair in 1886, "signifies the labour movement’s struggle for better working conditions, fair wages, the rights of workers and efforts in driving social progress," according to the World Economic Forum.

In Hollywood, the rally and march began at Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street, then headed north to Hollywood Boulevard before ending at Hollywood and Highland.
