Fleetwood Bank hosted a Community Blood Drive at the Shoemakersville branch on March 12.
“Together, the community successfully collected 20 units, all of which will be donated locally to area hospitals to ensure our neighbors and other community members in need are helped,” Fleetwood Bank said in a statement.
This was the fourth blood drive that Fleetwood Bank has hosted at the Shoemakersville branch in collaboration with Miller-
Keystone Blood Center.
“Miller-Keystone Blood Center desperately needs platelet and blood donors. Every day, we need approximately 350 donations to meet the transfusion needs of our local hospitals. There is no substitute for blood, the only source is you, the volunteer blood donor,” Barbara Gates, account manager for Miller-Keystone Blood Center, said in a statement.
Miller-Keystone Blood Center’s mission is to save lives by partnering with the community to provide a continuous supply of blood products and services. Miller-Keystone Blood Center is a member of America’s Blood Centers, a national network of independent, non-profit community blood centers that provide approximately 60% of the blood products transfused in the United States.
