A man was punched in the face by an unidentified knife-wielding suspect in North Fair Oaks, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The attack occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Middlefield Road around 12:31 a.m. on Sunday morning. The male victim, whose name the police have not disclosed, was exiting his car at the time.

“The victim was exiting his car when the suspect approached him, punched him, and fled on foot,” the San Mateo County Sheriff said in a press release. “The suspect was last seen running eastbound on 8th Avenue.”

The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. The suspect stole personal property from him, according to sheriff’s officials.
