Anne has been working in the mental health profession for over 25 years. She provides individual & couples therapy, as well as parent coaching, and weight management/Intuitive Eating support groups. She helps couples re-connect, overcome communication barriers, and create a deeper understanding and greater sense of connectedness with one another. Anne works with individuals to help clients achieve mood stability; reduce their stress with greater balance in every day living; create more fulfilling relationships; and find resilience to clear away obstacles, or painful memories, to finding a renewed joy and sense of direction in their lives.

My professional belief is that beginning psychotherapy is like embarking on a "Hero's Journey". Clients brave facing their fears in a safe, secure environment in order to create the lives they want to live. Many times, I meet clients who think that therapy is about fixing what is "wrong" with them. I believe, however, that therapy is really more about fostering clients' ability to connect with what is "right" with them. By the time a person/couple comes to me, she/he is usually experiencing discomfort, has run out of ideas, and needs help. My favorite client is the one who recognizes this need and has the desire to make change happen. It takes courage to risk involving an unknown person in such an intimate process; and it takes courage to change. I have 25 years experience helping clients with concerns including sex and intimacy, relationship needs, transitional change, personal growth, behavioral difficulties, mood disorders, grief, and others.

I work with a variety of clients, all having one thing in common: They are unhappy with the direction their life has taken and seek insight so that their lives can change. Whether they are wanting to process a life event and only want to come one or two sessions, or whether they want to make a long-term connection with a counselor, I tailor my therapy to my clients' needs. My approach is interactive, engaging my clients in conversations that help them process past or present events, so that they can find their own path to healing.
