Ethan Earle, a Life Scout with Troop 2103 in Lompoc, will be hosting two blood drives in Lompoc as part of the work toward his Eagle Project.

“I am 12 years old, an honor student at VMS, and working on my Eagle Project, which was recently approved,” Earle said. “I will be hosting two separate blood drives in Lompoc at the Veterans Hall.”

The dates for the blood drives, both at the Veterans Hall, 100 E. Locust Ave., Ste. 102, are:

• Sunday May 5, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Saturday June 1, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

“My troop will be volunteering to help and I am working with Vitalant. The more people that show up and donate blood, the more lives will be saved because every blood donation can save three lives,” Earle said. “There is a national blood shortage and this Eagle Project will definitely benefit the community.

“My goal is to have at least 10 people donate blood and for the second blood drive, my goal is to have at least 15 people donate,” Earle said.

“There will be snacks,” for donors, he assured.
