Police make arrest in second shooting in Lansing Wednesday

A 43-year-old man is in serious condition at a local hospital after he was shot in the neck in the 400 block of N. Sycamore Street. It was the second shooting of the day. Earlier on the south side of the city, a suspect took a detective's gun and shot two LPD officers.

LANSING – A 43-year-old man is in serious condition at a local hospital after he was shot in the neck in the 400 block of N. Sycamore Street.

The shooting happened about 3 p.m., as the department was still on the scene of a shooting where two police officers were shot by a suspect after he took a detective’s gun.

Police have a suspect in custody in the Sycamore Street shooting, a 37-year-old man, Police Chief Ellery Sosebee said.

Lansing Fire Department firefighters provided medical assistance and transported the man to a local hospital.

No other information was released.
