OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — The Senior Community Center of Owensboro – Daviess County got a special visit from tucker the therapy dog. It was Tucker’s first appearance at the center.

In February, Tucker was certified by Pet Partners.

Members were educated about the services and volunteer opportunities. One member says learning about Tucker’s role in hospice care provided clarity on misconceptions surrounding hospice care.

“I was thinking when they went to hospice that meant they were going to pass on. The information I got today is that sometimes they can live longer. It’s a comfort thing, and I’m so glad to hear that. When you find out the true information, that makes you feel better,” says Zanea Ashley, a member at the center.

Members say they look forward to seeing tucker again.
