RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing an intersection in Raleigh early Saturday morning, police said.
The incident happened around 12:55 a.m. in the 4500 block of Louisburg Road/U.S. 401, according to a Saturday afternoon news release from the Raleigh Police Department.
Officers said a 33-year-old man was crossing Louisburg Road on foot near the intersection of Dansey Drive when he was struck by a vehicle.
When police arrived, they found Jamel Williams, of Raleigh, dead at the scene, the news release said.
The area of the crash is just north of the U.S. 1 split from U.S. 401/Louisburg Road.
“At this time, we have no information on the suspects’ vehicle,” officers said in the release.
The crash remains under investigation.
