Lippo Investigates Cause of Short Circuit in Pejaten Village

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lippo Malls management deployed all technicians to find out the cause of the short circuit in the Pejaten Village`s electrical room last night, November 13.

“Until now, the cause of the short circuit is unknown. The maintenance team of the entire Lippo Malls group was deployed to Pejaten Village to repair it,” said Lippo Malls spokesman Nidia N. Ichsan at Pejaten Village, Wednesday, November 14.

Nidia said the fire only occurred at one point, namely in the electric panel room on the ground floor. The officer immediately extinguished the fire when it's ablaze. “After half an hour, the firefighters arrived, then swept the entire location to conduct the cooling and extinguish the smoke."

At the time of the incident, Nidia continued, the smoke of the burning cable covered the entire building. The employees and visitors were immediately evacuated as soon as the fire broke out at around 8:30 p.m. “Now the damage is being repaired. The mall is also open as usual."

Nidia hoped that all tenants in Pejaten Village could understand this situation. Some tenants have not been able to open the business because the fire has damaged the power supply. “This is an unwanted event. But we are trying to immediately fix the damage," Nidia remarked.
