The Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) is pleased to award $84,000 in scholarships to 43 accounting students as part of its Accounting Scholarship Program, which supports accounting students at Illinois colleges and universities who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership qualities, and financial need.

This year, racial and ethnic minority high school seniors also were invited to apply for new Freshman Scholarships aimed at increasing awareness of the accounting profession among minority students and preparing them for success as they begin their college careers.

These scholarships are possible thanks to the generous giving of the more than 1,000 donors who support the CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois. Donor contributions also support initiatives like ICPAS’ Jumpstart to Accounting Program and CPA Exam Award Program, which help students and CPA candidates transition into the profession by enhancing their business skills and providing financial aid toward their CPA exam fees.

“It’s an honor to be able to help such an impressive group of students, who are determined to succeed as future leaders in the accounting profession, overcome their financial barriers and achieve their academic and career goals,” says Todd Shapiro, ICPAS president and CEO.
