LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As part of its plan to double its number of COVID-19 drive-thru test sites nationwide, CVS Health will open 19 new sites in Kentucky on Friday, including three new sites in Louisville.

The major American health care company currently has seven sites open, including two in Louisville. These additions will bring Kentucky's total CVS Health test sites to 26, as the company plans to add 2,000 more nationwide.

Here are CVS Health's pointers with respect to testing.

  • Patients must register in advance at CVS.com to schedule an appointment.
  • Minors ages 12 and older are now eligible for COVID-19 testing at CVS Pharmacy drive-thru sites.
  • A parent or legal guardian must complete the online registration for all minor patients, and patients 12 – 15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when they come to be tested.
  • Self-swab tests are no cost to patients and available to individuals meeting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria.

And here are the the five testing locations in Louisville, with the first three sites representing the new additions:

  • 13900 Shelbyville Road
  • 3997 7th Street Road
  • 5300 South 3rd Street
  • 2311 Lime Kiln Road
  • 10490 Shelbyville Road
