DUSON — An investigation into a boat fire in Duson on Wednesday has resulted in an arson arrest.
According to the Scott Fire Department, 34-year-old Christina Bickham was arrested in connection with the fire. She has been booked on a charge of Simple Arson. The boat fire in Duson was extinguished early Wednesday morning.
Scott Fire Chief Chad Sonnier says that on August 7 at 7:53 a.m., firefighters were called to a reported boat on fire near a residence in the 900 Block of La Maison Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters say they observed a small fishing boat engulfed in flames. Sonnier says that crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent spread to a nearby manufactured home.
Minimal damage was sustained to the mobile home.
