BJ Surhoff On The Pathfinders For Autism Conference On October 17th

B.J. Surhoff is a former MLB player who played 18 season in the majors including 8 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles.

B.J. joined Ed and Steve to talk about his work with pathfindersforautism.org and the latest news and notes around the MLB. The Pathfinders For Autism Conference will be held on October 17th.

Steve asked B.J. about current Orioles players being frustrated with the continued exodus of players from the club. B.J. noted that trades and free agency can impact the clubhouse; however, there can be a more positive spin, "there's always going to be a natural evolution with the club. My guess is Chris Davis is the biggest priority and then from there its figuring out who is next in line. It can affect the clubhouse, but you have to look at it the other way in that its an opportunity for someone else."

Ed asked B.J. about his thought on the tremendous success that former Oriole pitcher Jake Arrieta has had with the Chicago Cubs this season. B.J. acknowledged that Jake Arrieta has always had great stuff and he is happy to see him do so well, "we had him for 7 years. He is a big strong talented guy and for whatever reason he wasn't able to put it all together. Jake put it together and good for him. We knew we traded away a talented guy but we were trying to win."

B.J. went on to discuss his work with pathfindersforautism.org and the upcoming Leadership Conference, the controversial Chase Utley slide into second base, the one game wild card playoff, and collisions at home plate.
