Jodi Lynn Skrobak, 54, died unexpectedly at her home in Petoskey.

Jodi was born on January 7, 1966, the daughter of William and Barbara (Brady) Skrobak in Hastings, Michigan. She graduated from high school in Harrisville and attended Lake State College for two years. She obtained her Bachelor’s in interior design from Central Michigan University.

Jodi moved to Petoskey in 2002 and began working as an administrative assistant in the HR department at the Odawa Casino.

Jodi was always very close with her sister, Marie. They were born 18 months apart and inseparable their entire lives. Affectionately known as “the giggle twins”, Jodi and Marie did everything together. When Marie worked at a local veterinary clinic, she would bring Jodi to the once monthly dinner parties where she made many friends and fit right in.

She loved animals, her two dogs Snickers and Twix were very dear to her. She was a big supporter of the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society and would participate in their fundraising activities. She loved to read, and hike nature trails. She enjoyed watching movies and listening to music. Jodi was in touch with her artistic side and would put that energy into making beautiful greeting cards and handmade gifts for family and friends.

She was the kind of person that would make other people around her feel good. She was quick to give out a compliment or make you smile with one of her well-timed dry jokes. Simply put, she was one of a kind.

Jodi is survived by her father, William Skrobak and by her best friend and sister, Marie Skrobak.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara and her brother, Stephen Skrobak.

There are no services planned at this time but will be announced later by Stone Funeral Home.

Friends wishing to make a charitable donation in her memory are asked to consider the Diabetes Association or Heart Association.
