This is the year of anniversaries.

Dominican Big Leaguer (DBL) Cigars is paying tribute to its founder’s—Francisco Almonte—35 years in the tobacco industry. DBL has only been around for five years, but Almonte spent time working alongside his father and at other companies learning the cigar-making process. Now the company wants to celebrate it.

The DBL 35th Anniversary uses Almonte’s favorite wrapper—a Cameroon-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador—over a Dominican binder and Dominican fillers, including piloto cubano.

It will be offered in a single 6 x 56 size.

Pricing is set at $9.60 and the 35th Anniversary is packaged in boxes of 30.

It will ship in August following a debut at the 2018 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show later this month.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
