Search underway for missing kayaker on Fall Creek Reservoir

A search is underway for a missing man last known to be kayaking on Fall Creek Reservoir near Lowell, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.

Glenn Hornsby, 53, went kayaking at 9 a.m. Monday and spoke with friends over the phone 2 ½ hours later, telling them he’d be home soon, according to the sheriff’s office.

When Hornsby didn’t come home, family members went to his last known location and found his car parked on a nearby road.

Search and rescue personnel responded and found Hornsby’s kayak upside-down and his dog nearby.

Hornsby stands 6 feet tall, weighs about 205 pounds and has gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing an army green shirt and gray or black shorts.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have information about Hornsby’s whereabouts to call 541-682-4150, option 1.
