Coronavirus restrictions are slowly beginning to lift in Michigan.

Auto showrooms and many retail businesses across the state can reopen Tuesday by appointment only. This does not include bars or in-house dining at restaurants.

On Friday, veterinary services can begin again and nonemergency dental services and other medical procedures considered nonessential can resume.

Whitmer, however, extended the stay-at-home order to June 12

In other Whitmer news, a state senator says the governor's office attempted to cover up an incident in which Whitmer's husband allegedly tried to use his position to jump the line and get his boat in the water on a northern Michigan lake.

Whitmer's office is refusing to comment on whether her husband, dentist Marc Mallory, cited his position as "First Gentleman" when he contacted NorthShore Dock LLC, north of Traverse City.

"We’re not going to make it a practice of addressing every rumor that is spread online," Whitmer spokeswoman Tiffany Brown said Monday.
