Bahrain India Week 2016

ManamaThe Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry  (BCCI) has announced a Bahrain-India Week beginning December 1, 2016 to promote trade relations between the two countries. 

The high-powered B2B exhibition will be designed to bring together Indian companies from sectors that have been identified as the sunshine sectors for Bahrain’s growth and promote Bahrain as the hub for these sectors in partnerships between both countries.

The B2B expo will take place on December 1 and 2, 2016 at Hall One of the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. 

The event is supported by India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Embassy of India in Bahrain and Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.  The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and Indian Business Chamber (IBCHAM) are the two supporting bodies from the Indian side for the event with Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Economic Development Board, Tamkeen and Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the Bahraini side.

The event is being organised by Bahrain-based PRM Marketing Consultancy. There will also be a BCCI-organised Investment Forum as part of the event canvas. 

The Indian press meet was attended by Alka Lamba, Member of the Legislative Assembly of New Delhi, Nagaraj Naidu, Director of the Investment, Technology Promotion and Energy Security at the Ministry of External Affairs, R.V. Prasad, Director (Gulf Nations) and Dr. Unnat P. Pandit, Officer on Special Duty to the Minister of State for Industry &
Commerce. 

Technology transfer

The B2B exhibition will focus on bringing technology and management transfer from India to Bahrain especially in the SMEs and manufacturing sectors. 

The show will include a Food Court with visiting chefs promoting regional cuisine as part of showcasing Indian foods and agricultural products and a Tourism Promotion and Culture Section that will see craftswomen and men demonstrating their skills. These craftspeople will tour shopping malls in Bahrain after the event to reach an even wider public.
