The Hobart Rotary Club will host the Sausage and Brew Festival from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at 101 Maple Ave.

Heidi Pickett, a Gilboa native who grew up on a dairy farm and works in the banking industry, specializing in agricultural lending, will host a 6 p.m. panel discussion at Liberty Rock Books, 678 Main St.

Janet Beken Smith, general manager of the Stamford Farmers’ Market Cooperative; Paul Cerosaletti, a senior resource educator at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County; Barb Hanselman, a member of the New York state Farm Service Agency and winner of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s Business Advocate of the Year award, and Duane Martin, president of the Delaware County Farm Bureau will discuss tactics to strengthen the farming industry, anticipating future industry obstacles and encouraging local supermarkets to sell local products.

Other festivities include live performances by the Tremperskill Boys and the Fisher Cats, square dancing, horseshoe games and hayrides.

The Hobart Historical Society will be open during the day and will offer a self-guided walking tour of the village.

Proceeds will benefit local Rotary projects and Delaware County agriculture.
