Deerfield Patch Honors High School Graduates: Class Of 2020

This is the 13th installment of our salute to Class of 2020 high school graduates in Deerfield.

DEERFIELD, IL — Deerfield Patch wants to share the achievements of local high school graduates by putting them in the spotlight over the next few weeks. Due to the coronavirus, in-person instruction has canceled the rest of the 2019-2020 school year in Illinois. We know these wonderful seniors are missing out on some of the last moments of the school year.

We hope that this will give the community a way to share their pride in our Class of 2020 high school graduates. You can find the form here if you'd like to add your graduate. Patch will be updating this form until May 31.

Brady Daitch, Deerfield High School

Brady was co-president of the Legal Aid Clinic, 5 year peer mentor to his friend and buddy at Special Gifts Theater along with Warrior Buddies, DECA and tennis to name a few. Always up for an adventure and hard to catch on a snowboard. He will attend Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, in the fall.

Sarah Steinway, Deerfield High School

Sarah has been a figure skater since the age of three and a member is the Northbrook Park District Icette Team since freshman year. She is also a member of the Deerfield High School Honor Society and the Hebrew Honor Society. She will be attending Ohio State University and studying architecture.

Message from the family: "Congratulations Sarah on taking the next big step in life.....college! You have worked hard to get here, you have hard work in a challenging environment ahead of you but we believe you and support your future success. Continue to be you and great things lie ahead! We love you .... xoxo."


Adam Pottinger, Deerfield High School

Adam plays football and baseball. He likes computer engineering and being outside. He will play baseball for Triton College in River Forest. He will play center field. His career choice currently is undecided.

Message from the family: "Adam, your family wishes you all the best as you endeavour into this next stage in your life. Although graduation may look different, the accomplishments are the same. You've worked hard and we are proud of you. May you find yourself as happy and full of big, crazy dreams as you are today! We love you!


Logan J. Bain, Batavia High School

Logan was involved with Completed Dual Credit Program with Batavia High School/Waubonsee Community College/Fox Valley Career Center in Fire Science. Interested in pursuing degree in Fire Science/Paramedic. ExtraCurricular Activities: Lacrosse player, MVP 2019, Cyclones hockey player, Alternate Captain, Attended IFSI, Participates in Batavia Fire Department Explorer Post. He will attend Waubonsee Community to complete a Fire Science degree. Will transfer to a four-year university to complete Bachelor's degree.

Message from the family: "Logan, we are so very proud of everything you have accomplished. You show great leadership, fought through diversity and have a strong desire to help people. You have a bright future ahead of you. Continue the values that have been instilled and you will go far. We love you! Mom, Dad & Coulson."


Amanda Crane, Deerfield High School

Amanda has been a member of the DHS theatre and choral community for four years. She is so sad to have missed out on her final (cancelled) production at DHS this Spring, but cherishes every show and cast of which she was fortunate to be a part. She will attend the University of Miami.

Message from the family: "Amanda, Words cannot express how sad we are for you during this unusual time. We are so proud of you and know that the best is yet to come. XOXO, Your fellow quarantine inmates (Mom, Dad, Charlie & Sabrina)."


Hannah Rosuck, Deerfield High School

Hannah was involved in Student Council all four years, and donated her time to GLASA. She loved being at school and spending time with her friends. Hannah also loved her summers at Lake of the Woods. She will attend the University of Iowa.

Message from the family: "We are so proud of you for all your accomplishments! We love who you are as a person and we hope you have an amazing time at Iowa! Love, Mom, Dad, Noah & Bailey!"


Hannah Lesser, Deerfield High School

Hannah was involved in Dance Company, Student Exec Board and Senior Teaching. She will attend Elon University.

Message from the family: "Hannah, we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished throughout high school. We are so excited to watch you continue to shine as the amazing person you are! Love you always xoxo, mom, dad and Ethan."


Ainsley Tobin, Deerfield High School

Ainsley was a three-year varsity volleyball player and captain, making All-Conference her senior year. She was a Highland Park Hospital volunteer and was also active in Warrior Buddies, Shared Spaces, and her church's Peer Ministry group. She will attend Purdue University and study nursing.
