COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – A Columbia woman has been charged with filing false car title applications and falsely obtaining money, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Twenty-two-year-old Quierra Dominque Outten is charged with two counts of altering, forging or counterfeiting a title certificate and two counts of obtaining property under false pretenses, valuing more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.
Outten is accused of going to the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles at 1630 Shop Rd. twice and filing a false title loan application for a 2011 Chevrolet Cruz and a 2007 Honda Accord.
Once she did that she wrecked both cars at two different places, but then went to the Titlemax at 7354 Garners Ferry Rd. to get a loan for the two cars she didn’t own.
She used a Chevrolet Cruz and a Honda Accord both times going to Titlemax, but they were just similar to the ones she wrecked previously. Outten received cash for both cars, $6,250 for the Chevrolet and $2,000 for the Honda.
The loans were never repaid by Outten, however.
Outten was arrested Friday, June 13 and is now at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
