Texas High School Football: Calallen, Veterans Memorial hold spots in state rankings

After big wins last week, Veterans Memorial and Calallen held their spots in the Dave Campbell's Texas Football high school football state rankings, released on Monday.

The Eagles moved to 4-0 after a 45-13 win against Gregory-Portland and are 3-0 in District 15-5A Division I play.

Calallen (5-2) stayed at No. 5 in Class 4A Division I rankings after rallying to beat Miller 34-27 at Buc Stadium.

Port Lavaca Calhoun is the highest-ranked team in the region in Class 4A Division I, remaining at No. 4 after a district win against Tuloso-Midway.

Refugio is the only other Coastal Bend team to appear in the rankings, remaining at No. 2 behind Shiner in Class 2A Division I.
