Surveillance video captures 4 men wanted for firehouse burglary during rescue call

Four men accused of stealing from Rahway firehouse

Surveillance video of four men police said allegedly burglarized an empty fire station in Rahway early Friday morning.

The search is on for four men police said allegedly stole personal items from an empty station in Rahway while firefighters were on a late-night call.

A credit or debt card from one of the firefighters was used to purchase gasoline shortly after the incident, police said.

Authorities said surveillance video captured the quartet allegedly loitering in the bay of the firehouse.

They entered through an open door, then allegedly rummaged through the offices and building and left before emergency personnel returned from the call, police said.

One of the men in the group was captured on video taking one of the firefighter’s jackets, which held his keys, wallet, cash and credit cards, one of which was used to purchase gas, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rahway Police Department TIPS line at 732-388-1553.
