Rewinding Football High Live: Video, scores, photos from Friday’s Week 5 games

Week 5 of the Alabama high school football season may be the biggest yet.

Two huge spotlight games include No. 1 Thompson traveling to No. 2 Hewitt-Trussville in 7A and No. 1 American Christian playing at No. 2 Bibb County in 4A.

Many of the games in south Alabama have been moved, canceled or rescheduled due to Hurricane Sally, but there is still plenty of action to follow from across the state.

4:41 PM, COVID concern part 2: Birmingham City Schools announced this afternoon that Woodlawn’s scheduled game against Homewood at Lawson Field has been canceled. Woodlawn had a player exposed to COVID-19, according to Birmingham City Schools superintendent Mark Sullivan.

2:15 PM, COVID Concerns: Bob Jones became the latest victim of COVID-19 on Friday. The Patriots canceled their game tonight with Florence as well as next week’s game at No. 4 Auburn after nine players tested positive.
