Among the 11 rejections due to toxins, amnesic shellfish poisoning was the group of marine biotoxins that appears to be the largest with 7 cases documented, mainly found in scallops. Others group of marine biotoxins detected were diarrhetic shellfish poisoning with 2 cases in mussels and 1 case of paralytic shellfish poisoning in oysters. Lastly, ciguatera rejections were only observed on 1 occasion in 2017 in red snapper.
