Another Vehicle Reported Stolen In Simsbury; 26th This Year: PD

Police said the vehicle had been left unlocked and with the keys inside.

SIMSBURY, CT — An unlocked vehicle — parked with the keys inside — was reported stolen in Simsbury on Tuesday, the 26th vehicle stolen in town this year, according to police.

The vehicle was taken from the southern end of West Mountain Road during the early morning hours. Every vehicle reported stolen in Simsbury this year had been left unlocked with the keys inside, police wrote in a post on Facebook.

"Please remember to lock your vehicles," Simsbury police said. "A majority of these stolen cars were used in criminal acts, some being very violent. Stolen cars have been involved in very serious motor vehicle accidents and some have been recovered with bullet holes in them.

"The Simsbury Police Department is aggressively patrolling neighborhoods during the overnight hours, but we need your help to keep all of our insurance rates from increasing."
