Clyde Donnel 'Don' Lancaster
Clyde Donnel "Don" Lancaster, 83, died peacefully at his residence on Friday, March 28, 2014.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Alva Terry Lancaster; and wife, Harriet Meadors Lancaster "Pet."
Mr. Lancaster is survived by his two daughters, Leslie (Mike) Willis of Hendersonville and Kathy (James) Whited of Lebanon; grandchildren Paige Elizabeth Whited, Chandler Dale Willis and Allie Jane Willis.
Mr. Lancaster was born in Temperance Hall, Tenn., on Dec. 16, 1930. He was a graduate of Gordonsville High School, and as a teenager he worked on the construction of Center Hill Dam with his father. He received his B.S. in music from Tennessee Tech University. He received his master's degree from George Peabody College in music education. He was in the Army Band based in Fort Campbell during the Korean War. After graduating from Peabody, he became a band director at Tyner High School in Chattanooga in 1955 and directed at Dupont High School in Nashville, as well. In 1960, he began teaching mathematics and band directing at Castle Heights Military Academy.
He said many times that CHMA was the absolute best place to work. He finished his teaching career at Lebanon High School, where he retired in 1996. Mr. Lancaster never met a stranger and was kind to everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the services. The Revs. Mike Ripski and David Hesson will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Karen White, Jim Lancaster, Pat Callis, Mary Hugh Skeen, John Rower, Sam Sherrill, Jimmy Reed, Marie Maier and Richard Hosier.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made in Mr. Lancaster's memory to New Leash on Life or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Paul M. Love Jr.
Inspired at a young age to travel, explore and achieve great things, Paul M. Love Jr.'s life story stands as a testament to his love of life, family, friends and adventure. He began his professional career in banking, working for numerous banks in the Nashville area including First American, Fidelity Federal and Sovereign's Bank (now Bank of America). He met his future wife, Stephanie, at the Jolly Ox in Nashville in July 1976 — making quite the impression dressed in a suit, complemented by a full leg-to-hip cast. The two were married in October 1978.
In 1981, he was chosen as a Rotary Scholar to represent banking in an American delegation to India and Pakistan. This was only the beginning of a distinguished career of travel and work overseas. A dedicated employee and student, he obtained an Associate's Degree of Science in banking from Nashville State Technical Institute in 1982 while also working full time. In May 1983, his wife gave birth to their first child, Lauren. She was to be followed soon thereafter by son Paul Jr. in September 1985. Only three years later, in 1988, he obtained a hard-earned Bachelor of Science in business management from La Salle University as well as receiving the prestigious, internationally recognized Effie Award for Advertising Effectiveness.
The 1990s brought him back overseas when he accepted a job with the Saudi-French bank in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His work in the Middle East allowed Mr. Love and his family to travel extensively, with visits to numerous countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, England, France and Switzerland. Even following his return to the United States, his wanderlust could not be sated and he spent the next two decades working as an independent financial consultant and traveling extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, East and Southeast Asia, and Australia.
In 2001, he took on a new role as grandfather to his daughter's son, Xavier. A passionate goer to garage sales, he spent Friday and Saturday mornings scouring the city for classic movies — hundreds of which he and his grandson donated to the Hendersonville Public Library. In 2013, he took his final international adventure to Tunisia, where he witnessed the addition of a new member to his family, his son's wife, Sarah.
Family and friends will remember him as a truly exceptional human being for his humor, keen intelligence, enduring selflessness and quiet generosity. An active member of the St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church and a contributor to numerous charities, he gave both time and assistance to those in need on countless occasions. Ultimately, his remarkable professional career was matched only by his multi-faceted role as loving and beloved husband, son, father and grandfather.
Mr. Love is preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Love. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Stephanie Love; son Paul Mitchell Love Jr. (Sarah); daughter Lauren Spencer Love; grandson Xavier Alexander Fite; brother Tim Love (Diane); sister Debbie Love; and mother, Loretta Jo Kidd.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Joseph of Arimathea with burial in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph of Arimathea.

Samuel 'Sam' Allen
Samuel "Sam" Allen, 62, of Ashland City died Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Funeral service was Monday from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Neil Pedigo officiating. Interment was in Sherron Cemetery with Brian Wooden, Jason Kondracki, Dan Kondracki, Kevin Williams, Steve Perry and Kevin Kondracki serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Allen was born June 24, 1951, in Russellville, Ky., son of Harold and Catherine Rust Allen. He is survived by his wife, Delorise Reece Allen; children Jimmy Cook of Franklin, Tenn., and Lisa Boone of Cadiz, Ky.; stepchildren Wesley Walker of Springfield, Angela Key of Hartsville, Tenn., and Bobby Key (Melissa) of Nashville; brothers Edward Allen (Judy), Richard Allen (Donna) of Russellville, Ky., and David Allen (Karen) of Mississippi; sisters Sherry Perry (Steve) and Denise Williams (Kevin) of Adairville, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Allen was a lab technician for Heinz.
Peggy Ann Perry Hudson
Peggy Ann Perry Hudson, 73, of Cedar Hill, Texas, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
She was born in Portland, Tenn., on Aug. 7, 1941, to William Perry Sr. and his wife, Mary Ethel. She graduated from Portland High School in 1958 and married Bobby Hudson on Jan. 6, 1961. She worked as an office manager until her retirement in the late 1990s.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her husband, Bobby; daughter Gail Wade of Cedar Hill, Texas; grandchildren Misty Wade of Mexia, Texas, Cecili Wade of Austin, Texas, and Caleb Hamrick of Cedar Hill, Texas; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dalton Perry of Bethpage and Ronnie Perry of Portland. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Sr. and Mary Ethel; brothers Wayne Perry, James Perry and William Perry Jr.; and sister Juanita McCormick.
The funeral was on Saturday at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home, with the burial immediately following.
Jeffery Dewayne Likens Sr.
Jeffery Dewayne Likens Sr., 51, of Westmoreland died Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Funeral services for Mr. Likens were held Sunday from Woodard Funeral Home with interment in Eulia Cemetery.
Mr. Likens worked as an auto-collision repair painter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Likens; brothers Larry Wayne Likens and Steven Likens; and sister Dianna Maddox.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Annette Likens, of Red Boiling Springs; sons Jeffery Dewayne Likens Jr. and Joshua Daniel Likens; daughters Nikki Annette O'Donnell, Jada Ashley Likens, Amanda Rose Ehringer, Emily Amber Likens and Cheyenne Ailenne Dakota; mother, Martha Likens; sister Karen McGrew; brothers Faron Likens and Bobby Likens; and 14 grandchildren.
Dr. John Berry Middleton
Dr. John Berry Middleton, 63, died Sunday, March 30, 2014.
As a young man, he played trumpet and was active in Boy Scouts, rising to the level of Eagle Scout in the Order of the Arrow. He was also an assistant Scout master of Troop 75 in Hendersonville. Born and raised in Arcadia, La., he was a family practice doctor there for eight years, and practiced in Hendersonville for 16 years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Middleton. Dr. Middleton is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jeanne Walden Middleton; sons Peter and Daniel Middleton; daughter Jennifer (Jake) Holt; four grandchildren, Jackson, Joseph, Eliana and Elise Holt; father, Henry Middleton (Ruth); brothers Huson (Kathy), Tom (Alice) and Bruce (Jan); sister Kathleen (Sam) Newell; and many nephews and nieces.
A life celebration service is 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Long Hollow Baptist Church with burial in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Robert 'Pete' Eugene Morrison
Robert "Pete" Eugene Morrison, 77, of Portland died March 27, 2014, at Morningside of Gallatin.
Mr. Morrison was born in Memphis on Jan. 21, 1937, to John Wesley and Sarah Laverghne Heflin Morrison.
He is survived by his wife, Olla Bell Morrison; sons Robert E. (Lisa) Morrison of West Point, Miss., and Bill (Melisa) Morrison of Gallatin; and grandchildren Jaime, Kristen, John and Jennifer Morrison.
The funeral service was held Saturday at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Streszoff officiating. Graveside service was Sunday at Clopton Cemetery in Brighton, Tenn.
Clifton Hugh Overbey Jr.
Clifton Hugh Overbey Jr., 52, of Hendersonville died Friday, March 28, 2014.
He was a kind-hearted, intelligent, genuine man who was full of life and leaves behind many loved ones with great memories.
After graduating from Hendersonville High School in 1979, Mr. Overbey was hired by Billy and Eddie Messer, who became dear friends. He worked for Billy and Eddie at Medical Associates for about 10 years during which time he met Pam, the love of his life. He then went to work at Rock Harbor Marina as the service manager for four years. Afterwards he started in the basement of his home his own personal watercraft and ATV repair business, which grew tremendously and required "The Shop," Midtown Power Sports. Mr. Overbey was all about family and being involved in the activities of his children, which were a big part of his life. He made many friends and touched many lives, while enjoying these activities with his children.
Mr. Overbey was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Hugh Overbey Sr. (Sonny). He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Hunley Overbey; mother, Frances Cone; stepfather and mentor, Charlie White; brothers Ed and Todd; son Chase (Cynthia); daughter Brooke; grandson Colton; granddaughter Riley; and numerous other relatives and close friends.
A life celebration will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

Jimmy Ray Hughes, age 81, of Bethpage, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
A funeral service was held March 29, 2014, at Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Don Curtis officiating.
Mr. Hughes will be taken to Akins Funeral Home in Copperhill, Tenn., for visitation and a funeral service at 4 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2014. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Turtletown, Tenn.
He was retired from construction work as a heavy equipment operator and a member of Operators Engineering Local 917 and was a 33rd Degree Mason Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Hughes, and mother, Delpha Marr.

Alexander Reed 'Al' Lesemann
Alexander Reed "Al" Lesemann, age 44, of Gallatin, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. A funeral service was held March 29, at First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin with the Rev. Kyle Gott officiating. Interment followed at Crestview Memory Gardens.
Al was a spina bifida patient who overcame the obstacles of his disability and lived a full life from a wheelchair. He served as a deacon in his church, was the Vanderbilt Hospital Clinic Bowl Poster Child, was a Poster Child for Easter Seals, received the Shoney's Boot Strap Award, was a Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow, and was named a Distinguished Alumni of Gallatin High School. For 20 years Al sold marriage licenses in the office of the Sumner County Clerk.
Al is survived by parents William L. Lesemann Sr. of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Betty Jo Lesemann of Gallatin, brothers, William L. Lesemann Jr., Louis F. Lesemann (Heather Anderson) and Robert T. Lesemann (Ginger), three nieces, Catharine, Hannah and Sarah Lesemann.

Autumn McConnell
Autumn McConnell, 57, of Hendersonville died March 26, 2014.
Ms. McConnell was a selfless, quick-witted, funny and accepting woman that touched everyone's life she came into contact with. She was a very patient and loving woman with a way about her that was infectious to others. She was a very gracious and hospitable lady that had never met a stranger. She enjoyed going to church at Fireplace Fellowship, where she was a care pastor, networking, shopping and helping people. Heaven truly gained another angel. She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Sarah Jane Harris; paternal grandmother Nina Price Hardgrove; and brother Sean Ruane.
Ms. McConnell is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, David L. McConnell; adoring children Destiny Cole (Tyler), Tyler McConnell, and Savanah Noel McConnell; grandchildren Melia Browning, Ocean Cole, Journey Lynn Cole and Ryker Cox; mother, Nema Jo Harris; and father, Nick Petrovich.
A life celebration was held Friday at Fireplace Fellowship Church, Hendersonville.

Christopher Keith Aydelott, 51, of Hendersonville died March 23, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Aydelott; parents, Joyce Reynolds and Jerry Aydelott; brother Gavin Aydelott; sisters Kathy Baker and Donna Kerthley; and nephews Josh and Matt Baker and Trevor Keathley.

Charles Lee Blanton
Charles Lee Blanton, 76, of Goodletsville, formerly of Glasgow, Ky., died Monday, March 24, 2014 in Nashville.
He was the son of the late Aubrey "Ted" Blanton and the late Kathleen Cooke Blanton. He was a retired risk manager for Shoney's Corp., a bus driver for Unity Program and a Little League coach. Mr. Blanton loved working with children and was very active in the Glasgow community. He was a member of Fairview United Baptist Church, Brownsville, Ky.
Mr. Blanton is survived by his wife, Betty Lindsey Blanton; two sons Charles Ronald Blanton (Susan) of Hendersonville and Lee Blanton of Nashville; three grandchildren Charles David Blanton, Samuel Jacob Blanton and James Patrick Blanton. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Louise Lindsey.
The funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel with burial in the Fairview Church Cemetery, Brownsville, Ky.
James Phillip Doughman
James Phillip Doughman died March 23, 2014.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., and retired in Gallatin in 2005.
Mr. Doughman loved the Lord and the truth. He was proceeded in death by two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Doughman; four children Deborah Moser, Linda Sorgen, Steve Doughman and Daniel Doughman; his brother John McDonald; seven grandchildren; his beloved dog Molly; and a few sheep.

Edward Franklin Heathman
Edward Franklin Heathman, 82, of Hendersonville, died March 22, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 13, 1932, to the late James and Lillian (Russell) Heathman in Ashland City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Jean Quam and Maude Ann Phillips.
He was married to Rhonda Heathman on Dec. 30, 2004. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons Gordon Franklin Heathman of Gallatin and Russell Lee Heathman of Nashville; brother James Heathman of Jamestown, Ky.; grandson Peyton Franklin (Ashley) Heathman; and great-grandson Cameron Franklin Heathman.
He served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Metro General Hospital with 37 years in administration. He loved beekeeping and volunteered teaching this trade to area high schools. He was assistant Scout Master with Troop 83 in Nashville and was a Christian.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted noon Friday from Forest Hill Cemetery in Ashland City.

Billy James Jones, 60, of Portland died March 23, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Sumner County on March 8, 1954.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Carolyn White Jones; son Richard Vincent Jones; grandson Jacob Matthew Jones; mother, Mary Nell Davis; sisters Alice Lorraine Davis and Lisa Choate; brother Charles Christopher Davis; aunt Lilian Bybee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sons John Matthew and James Michael Puckett and brother Timothy Wayne Davis.

Dorothy Jane Walpole, 67, of Mt. Juliet, died Monday, March 24, 2014.

Mrs. Walpole was born Sep. 22, 1946 in Davidson County to Paul William and Martha Kennedy Adams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Jane Adams.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Horace Walpole, children Debbie Ralph Stevens (Kenneth) of Bethpage, Michael Shane Walpole of Lebanon, David Lee Walpole of Mt. Sehoy Lynn Welshofer
Sehoy Lynn Welshofer, 79, of Hendersonville died Saturday, March 22, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Caroline Ann Bosler; her father, Harold William Bosler; and her sister Karen Sarah Bosler.
She was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Johnsonburg, Pa. Sehoy received a Bachelor of Science in education from Pennsylvania State University in 1956 and became a high school math teacher. She married John Arthur Welshofer in 1959. They lived in several towns in Pennyslvania and Ohio before settling in Hendersonville in 1990. Mrs. Welshofer worked a series of part-time jobs to help put her children through college.
Mrs. Welshofer is survived by her husband, John Arthur Welshofer; brother Bill Bosler; daughter Barbara; sons David and Jay; and grandchildren Max and Alex.
An expert quilter, Mrs. Welshofer was a member of the Lakeshore Quilters' Guild from 1990 until her death. In 2001, she started a small, informal quilting and sewing group of close friends who met weekly in her home until her death. Mrs. Welshofer touched many people throughout the years through her generosity and her teaching of quilting.
Mrs. Welshofer was accomplished at basket-weaving, knitting, embroidery, cross-stitch, crochet and Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs).
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Hendersonville Memory Gardens & Funeral Home.

Brenda Diane Hare Brewington
Brenda Diane Hare Brewington, 68, of Gallatin, died Friday, March 21, 2014.
Funeral service was Monday from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor David Spears officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Brewington was born Aug. 18, 1945, in Madison to Edward Joe and Edna Lucille McKeel Hare. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Gwendolyn Joyce Williams.
She is survived by her son David Allred; sisters Sharon (Roger) Satterfield and Valerie Woodard, both of Gallatin; nieces Lisa Alley (John) and Holly Hathcote (Kenneth); nephew Wayne Giles; great-nephews Britten Galbraith (Danyell) and Jenson Hathcote; and special friends Shirley and Roger Schindler, Robbie and Vernon Glenn and Alaine Hampton.

Edward Franklin Heathman, 82, of Hendersonville died March 22, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center.

Francis Neal Rice
Francis Neal Rice, 88, of Hendersonville died Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Mr. Rice was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Sardis, Tenn., to William Homer and Mary Moffett Rice.
He served in the U.S. Army as a combat infantry soldier in Central Europe, earning a Bronze Star. Mr. Rice was the director of civilian schools in Fort Campbell, Ky. He was a devoted family man, a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Smith Rice, and his son Dr. Ron Rice. He is survived by daughter-in-law Pam Rice and grandsons Rev. Bradley Neal Rice (Alissa) and Capt. William Tyler Rice (Danielle).
A celebration of life was held Saturday. Entombment was in Spring Hill Cemetery's Serenity Mausoleum with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hendersonville First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Patricia Lynn Smith
Patricia Lynn Smith, 58, of Westmoreland died March 16, 2014, at her home.
She was born Nov. 28, 1955, to Willie and Dovie Bennett Mayberry.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Gregory Smith; daughters Wanda (Daniel) Plumley of Ashland City and Brenda (J.D.) Key of Westmoreland; son David (Tammy) Curry of Hendersonville; stepson Ricky Smith of Westmoreland; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers Jerry Mayberry of Scottsville and Ronnie Mayberry of Hendersonville.

Clifton Rhea "Mike" Stewart, 77, of Gallatin, died Sunday, March 23, 2014.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. today from Hartsville Pike Church of Christ with Brother Doyle Farris and Brother Brian Jarrett officiating. Entombment will follow in Sumner Memorial Garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Mr. Stewart was born July 28, 1936, in Sumner County. He is preceded in death by parents, Tommy and Estelle Poole Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alpha Mae Williams Stewart of Gallatin; children Michael Stewart of Gallatin, Teresa (Randall) Ragland of Portland, Mark McKinney of Livermore, Calif., Deborah (Phillip) Looper of Lafayette, and Sherri (Kenny) Chaffin of Dyersburg; brothers Wayne (Doris) Stewart of Westmoreland and Jimmy (Jewell) Stewart of Portland; sisters Diana Parks and Marie Turley, both of Portland; grandchildren Randy (Tara) Ragland, Brandon (Jennifer) Ashworth, Matthew (Stevie) Ashworth, Chelsea (Taylor) Ricks and Rachel Chaffin; great-grandchildren Brooklyn Ragland, Hannah Ashworth, Sarah Ashworth, Kaylee Ashworth, Aiden Ashworth, Leevi Ashworth and Jessica Gentry.

Dr. David Anthony 'Tony' Stone
Dr. David Anthony "Tony" Stone, D.O., of Hendersonville, died Monday, March 17, 2014.
He was born Jan. 3, 1950, to James Wilbur Stone and Ethel Mae Gentry Stone.
Dr. Stone was an anesthesiologist practicing with a group in East Tennessee, and co-owned Stone Urgent Care and Anesthesia Pain Center in Nashville with his wife, Dr. Rosa Stone D.O.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Randall Lamont Stone of Oklahoma; aunt Wilene Gentry Brooks of Gallatin; and several cousins.
Funeral Service were held Saturday from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with John Young officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Crestview Memorial Park.
James O. Thompson
James O. Thompson, 90, died March 22, 2014.
He was born Aug. 3, 1923, to Orren and Ellen Thompson. He was a lifelong farmer and a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a longtime member and deacon of the Portland First Baptist Church. He was especially known for his work ethic and love for his family.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Loree Cole Thompson; three children Kathy (Billy) Meadors, Kenneth (Cynthia) Thompson and Kelly (Tom) Short; and several grandchildren. Funeral service was held Monday at the Portland First Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Patton and Bro. Greg McCoy officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Keith J. Watson
Keith J. Watson, 67, of Portland died Friday, March 21, 2014, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Graveside services were conducted Monday from the Donaldson Cemetery in Celina, Tenn.
Mr. Watson was a district manager for the Jim Dandy Markets.
