Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that his club did receive an offer from Manchester United for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, but feels that it wasn't good enough.

The French midfielder has long been linked with a move away from St. Mary's Stadium, with a number of Premier League clubs having shown interest in securing the services of the player over the course of the last year.

The latest in the list are the Red Devils, with manager Louis van Gaal looking to add strength to his midfield for the upcoming season.

The Southampton manager has though kept on insisting that his club are yet to receive any serious offer from the Premier League giants.

Speaking on the eve of his team's trip to Austria where they play their first match against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, Koeman stated that the midfielder will be travelling with the rest of the team, in spite of some health related difficulties.

"Morgan was ill but he is coming to training tomorrow and he will travel with the rest of the squad to Austria", Koeman said in a press conference, via Southampton's YouTube.

"He was not feeling well, so he had contact with the doctor and he stayed at home."

On the issue of a bid for the 25-year-old, Koeman added: "Two weeks ago we had a big offer from Man United but it wasn't enough. It wasn't serious and no more bids today."
