Moving? WalletHub ranked 182 based on which are best and worst to rent in and found Scottsdale, Arizona to be the best
WalletHub looked at several factors to determine which cities were best to rent in, and awarded points based on performance in each category.
Those 23 categories include some that fall under 'Rental Market & Affordability,' like the friendliness of sublet laws, rental affordability, forecasted change of median rent, cost of living, and average annual renters' insurance premium.
There were also quality of life factors, like city satisfaction, the job market, driver and recreation friendliness, weather, the public school system, safety, and state bedbug laws.
Adding up points for all of these things, the top cities on the list were not the most well-known ones — and certainly not the most populated cities.
Following Scottsdale, Overland Park, and Bicmarck, the top ten is rounded out with mostly western and midwestern cities, including quite a few from Arizona.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa ranked number one for most affordable rentals
