A Mendota Heights woman is dead following a four-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Minneapolis.

Alice Jane Tibbetts, 23, was traveling east on Minnesota 62 near the Portland Avenue exit in a Honda Civic about 10 a.m. when she rear-ended a Chevy Equinox.  While the Equinox was pulling over onto the shoulder, the Civic was rear-ended by a 2014 Ford F150 truck. The Equinox tried to move out of the path of the truck, but then struck a 2014 Kia Optima.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Tibbetts died at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner on Saturday confirmed that she died of blunt force trauma.

The driver of the Equinox, Randall Isaak, 62, of New Hope and the driver of the Optima, Benjamin Haberman, 32, of Coon Rapids, were not injured.

The driver of the Ford truck, Darrin Gregory, 29, of Minneapolis, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police reported that the roads were dry and all drivers were wearing a seatbelts.
