Games Done Quick bans two runners over sexist, transphobic remarks

GoldenEye 007 runners barred "indefinitely" from GDQ events after troubling screenshots circulate

Speedrunning charity marathon Games Done Quick has "indefinitely" banned two speedrunners after screenshots of each making sexist, transphobic remarks were circulated on social media.

"After receiving additional information on the situation that was brought to our attention today, we were able to confirm the authenticity of the screenshots we received," wrote Games Done Quick in a statement on its official Twitter. " As such, the people in question will not be representing us at any GDQ events indefinitely."

The screenshots in question show R. White Goose and Graviton, both GoldenEye 007 speedrunners, making various comments that included (from Goose) transphobic and antisemitic comments and (from both) demeaning statements toward women in general and other speedrunners and community members. Goose has since offered a formal apology on Twitter.

Though Goose has been absent from GDQ events since 2014, Graviton was set to run Doom 64 at AGDQ in January. His run has since been canceled.
