Here’s a way-out idea for a possible solution to the terrible mass murders we suffer in this country. Suppose we develop armed autonomous drones for every public place. These drones would be capable of detecting a mass killing as it happens and deploy to incapacitate the killer with a minimum of collateral damage. It’s probably possible with current technology, and mostly would serve as a deterrent to anyone foolish enough to contemplate such a crime.
