MARLBORO, NJ — A fire broke out at a popular local restaurant, Cuzin’s Clam Bar on Rt. 79, in Marlboro Township on Nov. 24, police report.
Marlboro police say they first got the call about a smoke condition at Cuzin's Clam Bar and Seafood Restaurant at 11:48 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24. Cuzin’s was closed for business at the time of the fire.
The caller stated there was a smoke condition at the restaurant, which is located at Maple Tree Plaza, 130 Rt. 79.

When Marlboro patrol officers got there, they found what they described as heavy smoke coming from the front doors of the restaurant. The fire was believed to have originated in a kitchen wall next to a stove. The all-volunteer Marlboro Fire Department along with the Robertsville Fire Department responded, and they able to extinguish the fire before it could spread, said police.
The Monmouth County Fire Marshall's Office and Marlboro Township Fire Prevention Bureau are now investigating.
