18 construction companies fined for violating labour rules in Bahrain


(MENAFN) Labour Ministry has fined 18 construction companies in Bahrain for violating the midday working rules, reported Arabian business. Although the ministry announced new regulations on July 1 that bans outdoor working under the midday sun till 4p.m , inspectors have registered 137 incidents breaching these rules. A spokesperson of the Labour Ministry declared: "According to the law, these companies have to pay fines ranging between BD500-BD1,000 ($1,326-$26,52) for each worker caught working by our labour inspectors.". It's worth mentioning that the country has implemented the midday working ban during summer for the seventh year now.
