Milwaukee Archdiocese Plans Week Of Service

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Archdiocese of Milwaukee will host service opportunities throughout all 10 counties of the archdiocese in honor of its 175th anniversary from Sept. 22 to 28, 2019.

Service opportunities are co-hosted by parishes of the archdiocese and local service organizations. Parishes are also encouraged to host their own service events through this week. Highlighted events are listed below.

Care Bundles Evenings of Service

A collaborative event with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, 19 host-site parishes, Catholic Charities, Gerard's Embrace, Bethel House, Family Promises and Capuchins Community Service.

Volunteers will assemble care bundles at parishes and these bundles will be distributed to those in need by the service organizations listed above. Four host-sites have a large number of participants registered and details for these parishes are below.

Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., 2802 N. 24th Place, Milwaukee

Church officials say the Amani neighborhood is in one of the most economically challenged zip codes in the country. Registered volunteers will work alongside residents of one block of the Amani neighborhood for a day of home improvements, minor exterior repairs, painting and landscaping.
