The state's biggest country-and-camping party will notch its seventh year at Michigan International Speedway, as the Faster Horses festival welcomes 40,000-plus fans this weekend.

Keith Urban, Toby Keith and Zac Brown Band will lead nearly three-dozen performers as Faster Horses arrives fresh off a win at the Academy of Country Music's Industry Awards, where it took the trophy for festival of the year. The fest is a flagship event in Live Nation's stable of U.S. country music fests.

MIS officially resides in Brooklyn in the Irish Hills area, but fans this year will be heading to a town temporarily renamed Faster Horses, Mich.: The village council issued a proclamation last month authorizing the name change Thursday through Sunday.

With temperatures set to soar into the mid-90s, fest officials will be keeping an eye on the weather, a spokesperson said, and fans will be reminded to stay hydrated and seek shade when needed. As always, free water stations will be positioned across the sprawling MIS grounds, and it's a sure bet that attractions such as the water slide and foam pool will stay busy.

Like last year — the first Faster Horses following the Las Vegas festival shooting — fest-goers will encounter security checkpoints upon arrival, including full vehicle searches.

Fans will have access to the campgrounds starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, and gates to the festival site will open at noon daily on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are still available, starting at $215 for three-day general-admission passes. Camping packages are sold separately.

Maren Morris performs on stage for day 4 of the 2019 CMA Music Festival on June 09, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee.
