First river cruise wonderful experience even though we had a alot of rain. And had to miss Francesville due to low water on the Mississippi. They tried there best to accommodate us. And the Coast Guard closed the river for most of one other day due to barge blocking the river. No fault of of the cruise line. They opened the engine room bar in the back for a few hours of free drinks while we were kept informed.
The accommodations we great nice size room wonderful plushy bedding.Robe and slipper for our use nice touch.Full size toiletries. The ship was so beautiful. You have plenty to do and see and hear about, even if you didn't leave ship.Tours well organized and the tour guides had plenty to tell you about to make it informative.Wonderful entertainment southern style. The food very good, small portions but adequate.Delicious desserts.Wine red or white included with dinner loved that. Easy on and easy off.Everything was perfect, except for a small amount of people working in the dining room. Most are trained. But a few need more. They should inspected before you open the dining room for clean and ironed white shirts. A couple looked like they had slept in them. And they were the lazy ones too.I loved our Waiter Ryan Smith and his helper Carl Brown. There were others too who were very hard workers I saw from a distance.
I hope American Queen does well because you can see the effort they have put forth.Would love to do another river boat trip.I Learned alot about the history of the south. This would have been the ship I would have wanted to go on in 1800s and now I have.Loved it!!
Very nice size cabin.Wonderful bath with tub and hand rails felt very safe.
