Fake money, the machine to make it and lots of drugs seized in FHP raid
A raid of a Westside Jacksonville home Thursday netted state investigators 61 grams of methamphetamine, $17,390 in cash, $1,800 of counterfeit bills, a counterfeiting machine and the arrest of three men, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Joshua Karl Robinson, 35, Kevon Tyrell Belsches, 32, and Jarvis Deon Williams, 30, all were taken into custody on multiple charges, the Highway Patrol said.
The raid at the home in the 5500 block of Brent Street off Timuquana Road was the result of months of undercover investigation, Master Sgt. Dylan Bryan said. One of the Highway Patrol's investigators noticed a high amount of traffic at the house in the Ortega Park community and began surveillance there.
"A neighbor approached and said, 'This house has got to be doing something because it is like this all the time,'" Bryan said. "... While we are a traffic-oriented agency, public safety is important to us. And all of this activity, even though it is at one home, they are distributing it through the community and putting lives at stake."
With a search warrant investigators seized a number of items inside and outside the home. That included the meth and money, plus 3.1 grams of cocaine, 12.2 grams of crack cocaine, 10.2 grams of marijuana, 9.6 grams of mixed narcotics, 1.9 grams of fentanyl and other illegal prescription drugs and contraband, the FHP said.
Two others in the home were questioned and released, the FHP said.
