BOYS SOCCER

Chelsea 2, Tecumseh 1: At Tecumseh, the Bulldogs got a goal in the final minute of play, spoiling Tecumseh’s senior day celebrations Saturday.

Neither team could find the back of the net early before Steven Knepper found Tanner Hawkins with a strong ball and put Tecumseh up 1-0 in the 22nd minute, only for Chelsea to counter and send the match to the half level at 1-1.

Tecumseh’s strong play kept generating chances in the second half, but it was the Bulldogs who found the back of the net in the dying seconds, as a floater got behind Tecumseh’s keeper.

“We are really playing well right now, and the guys just need to keep focused and stay the course,” Tecumseh coach Jerry Nowak said. “We will be fine and look forward to getting another shot at Chelsea soon.”
