Delmar man convicted in 2017 armed robbery

SALISBURY, Md. – A Delmar man was convicted of armed robbery in a Wicomico County courtroom on Thursday.

29-year-old Patrick Vetra was convicted of armed robbery and robbery following a two day trial. According to officials, the charges date back to December 14, 2017, when Vetra robbed the Corner Market in Delmar. He walked into the store and told the clerk to give him all of the money in the register, and when the clerk questioned him as to whether or not he was serious, Vetra lifted his sweatshirt to show what the clerk believed to be a handgun tucked into his waistband. Vetra fled with roughly $300 from the cash register.

Sentencing has been postponed pending a pre-sentence investigation.
